In this edition of our Spotlight newsletter, we wanted to highlight some friends of ours who are doing what they can to keep their businesses running in this very unusual time.
We are still working at DLO, with much of our focus on hospital projects. Some of our regular clients have also felt that now is a good time to get those internal jobs tied up while their offices are empty. However, for the safety of our staff and our clients, we have made significant changes to the way we operate. Our crews are smaller for social distancing purposes, which means certain things will take longer than usual to complete. Our staff is required to wash their hands frequently and use sanitizer when a washroom is not close by. All staff have the proper resources for what is expected for each job site (gloves, masks, hand sanitizer…) What hasn’t changed is our attention to detail and promise to get the job done the way our clients have come to expect.

Q: How long have you owned your company?
A: We opened our first location in June 2004, almost 16 years ago.
Q: What changes have you made during this unprecedented time?
A: We closed completely when the pandemic began in BC & Alberta. We have just re-opened 4 of our 7 locations this week for take out and delivery with Skip The Dishes. We hope to open our Browns QE Theatre (Downtown Vancouver) location for take out and delivery soon as well. We have also changed our hours and condensed our menu slightly. Some of the big changes we have made are implementing even stricter cleaning and sanitation policies, the addition of gloves to all staff including FOH, mandatory masks in the kitchen and optional masks for our FOH team and physical distancing. Unfortunately, our cocktail lounge with live music Ventura Room (Downtown, Vancouver) will be closed until we are able to re-open for in-store service.
How to get food delivered: You can call direct to place a take-out order and receive 20% off food, or through the Skip the Dishes app. Coming very soon you will be able to place your order and pay directly through our website.
Q: What is your favourite TV show?
A: Favourite show is Game of Thrones, but I am always looking for the next Chef’s Table to come out.
Click here to view Brown’s website and here for the Ventura Room. Maybe browse the menu and see what you could have for dinner tonight?
